21-DAY WILDERNESS CAMP:

The Askari Program

A LIFE CHANGING ADVENTURE

A transformative experience grounded in three core pillars: Identity, Purpose, and Independence. Where your child's growth and self-discovery take center stage. Our fundamental belief is that young participants possess incredible potential for growth when provided with the space to explore their identity, uncover their unique purpose, and cultivate independence amidst the beauty of the wild. Offered for two age groups 15-18 years and 18-21 years on our private game reserve in the Greater Kruger park.

Rest assured, your child's experience is guided and supported by our qualified counselors and medical evacuation responders. We do not push any religious beliefs but teach inclusion and respect for all perspectives. It's a safe and nurturing environment for personal growth.

  • We hike into base camp with all our gear. It is not a long hike but can be intense even for experienced trekkers. We start each day by waking up with the sunrise and doing early morning fitness. Everything we do is largely on foot, getting to and from activities. It is all a fundamental part of the progressive development of your child and is why we have a minimum fitness requirement of needing to walk 2km in 30 minutes.

  • Campers are encouraged to learn practical life skills like food management, teamwork, cooking and cleaning for themselves and problem- solving, setting them up for success in the real world.

  • Teamwork, leadership, courage, you’re going to build all those things and more playing strategic and thrilling games in the bush using our world glass Spyder Victor Paintball gear.

  • An 80-hour solo experience in the wilderness fosters introspection, resilience, and self-reliance, while the intentional absence of technology allows true connections to form, enhancing focus and social skills. During this time they are monitored 24/7 by our team and provided with guidance and the necessary assistance to ensure their success.

  • Learn from the best about the challenges faced by conservation efforts and get hands on with our local anti-poaching unit.

  • Campers engage in Leadership, conflict resolution, modern values for the modern man, how to inspire for success and other incredible Workshops. Tackling real-world scenarios and honing their leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. These are valuable skills that will serve them well throughout life.

In the evenings, campfires and seminars create spaces for stories, friendship, and profound lessons. At Angus Lowe 21-Day Wilderness Camp, we don't just offer an adventure in the wild; we provide an inner journey of self-discovery. Your child will emerge confident and purpose-driven, ready to navigate the world with resilience and compassion.

  • Fun activities like "The Great Food Drop" challenge campers to work together, fostering teamwork, resourcefulness, and a sense of accomplishment. Thrilling rock climbing and slacklining activities provide opportunities to push boundaries and build balance and courage. Our days are not just about fun; they're about learning and growth. Each day also begins with an energizing morning jog and fitness sessions to promote physical health, routine and clarity of mind.

  • Learn about the bush from a professional. Who knows what exciting animals you will see!

  • Set against the stunning backdrop of the Greater Kruger Park area, our camp provides opportunities for wildlife tracking, survival skills, and team-building challenges. Game drives and nature walks are not just adventures; they're lessons in biodiversity and keen observation.

  • We encourage campers to communicate with you through handwritten letters, promoting reflection and improving their written communication skills. It's a connection often lost in the digital age, but one we value dearly.
